Zenith
Our 1978 Islander 36 “Zenith” is for sale. The boat has had only three owners during its lifetime, and she has been kept in Bristol condition by each of her owners.
The yacht was designed by legendary naval architect Alan Gurney, perhaps best known for the designing the legendary Maxi “Windward Passage”.

A timeless design, Zenith receives many compliments whether at the dock or on the water, and she is fully equipped with up to date cruising and racing equipment. Many people stepping on the boat for the first time ask, “Is it new?"

Islander 36’s are well known for their sailing abilities, and are able to stand up to San Francisco Bay’s boisterous conditions. Zenith is the perfect family cruiser, and has taken her crew in comfort as far north as Drake’s Bay, and as far south as Monterrey, and most ports in between, including annual Delta trips.

Zenith is a fast boat as well, taking the championship in the 2016 Islander 36 Nationals, and finishing in second place in 2015, 2017 and 2018. She took first place in division in the 2018 Singlehanded Farallones Race and first in division in the 2017 doublehanded Three Bridge Fiasco Race. All races have been done with full cruising gear aboard, including dodger with solar panel, ground tackle, tankage, and always the American flag proudly displayed off her stern.

She is dry, comfortable and a joy to sail. The term “must see to appreciate” is over used – if you are seriously interested in an Islander 36, “Zenith” should not be missed.
